Headshot Session Anatomy
Over time, I have refined my photoshoot process to make it as easy as possible to produce unique and professional headshots for my clients. Other photographers have complicated packages and put a limit on different things. I want to make sure you get everything you could want or need out of your headshot session. Therefore, I have created an easy three-step, one-size-fits-most process.
1. WE SHOOT
We will have a fun session and shoot tons of images. We shoot until we get what you are looking for. You will receive unlimited time during your session and have no limit on the number of outfits you would like to shoot in. I suggest bringing a minimum of three at least, one being your absolute favorite of course. I have three different backgrounds we can shoot in. White, gray, and black. We can shoot your preferred background, or we can shoot all three. There is no limit. We go at your pace!
I will be shooting directly into my laptop, known as tethering, so we can have a few sneak-peaks as we go. I use this as a guide to help you get better in front of my camera. This also helps me generate feedback from you on what you like or do not like. We will make any necessary adjustments early in the session so we can get the shots you love.
I will direct you into positions that are most flattering for your unique physical traits. Once you are in the right spot I say a lot of crazy stuff to get you to react. Then I shoot really quickly throughout your entire reactive expression arc. This is how we get natural expressions that will show your true personality.
2. we SELECT
Once we’re done with the session, we will sit down, relax and review the photos together in my conference room. We will begin the selection process, and quickly decide which images are the best by process of elimination. Once we narrowed them down, you have your top favorite headshots, let you purchase your favorite images.
I do not place a limit on how many images you should buy. You are in charge and select exactly what you want. Once you purchase your photos, we move on to step three.
3. RETOUCHing magic
Your selections then get professionally retouched. Nothing kills a headshot faster than poor retouching. I employ advanced photoshop techniques to make sure you look natural and like the best version of yourself. As soon as the images are finished I will deliver the high-resolution .jpg files to you. You will be able to use them wherever you need.
